Ever been out for breakfast and everyone is ordering avo smash or eggs on sourdough, except that one friend who orders a stack of pancakes with extra maple syrup? And then you get food envy for the next half an hour? We’ve all been there. But fear not, I am here to start a revolution with Perth’s best pancakes!
It’s called ‘Pancakes all day Errrrryyy day!’ I am the President of said revolution but you can all join by reading this blog post, and then we can make up a Super Secret Pancake Handshake to use when we bump into each other at one of the below pancake hot spots… Cool? Cool.
Our team put our pancake loving heads together and came up with this list from across Perth.
BLACKSMITH CAFE – Highgate
Buttermilk Pancakes – strawberries, seasonal fruits, mascapone, Canadian maple syrup *Add crispy bacon *Add ice cream
The best kinda stack is a grammable stack – amirght? Almost too pretty to eat, these fruit covered fluffies are a serious treat and can only be made better by adding the crispy bacon. Keep your eyes peeled for Blacksmith’s pending re-opening date post Covid!
MAISON SAINT HONORE – Floreat and Caversham
Crepe Benedicte 1 egg, spinach, mozzarella, mushrooms sautes, caramelised onions, goat cheese, homemade pesto
All the French class, this temple of deliciousness serves the typical French crepe rather than our better known American pancake stack. The Crepe Benedict is my pick – oh so yummy and wonderfully light. Who said Perth’s best pancakes need to be round?
TYPIKA- CLAREMONT
Buttermilk Pancakes Served with poached pear, strawberries, nut crumble, vanilla pandan custard and cinnamon sugar
This is Caroline’s favourite stack o’ pancakes. If you’re going, take me with you! Forever drooling at this gorgeous cafés Instagram. The prettiest presented pancakes ever.
THE LITTLE BAY CAFE – WATERMANS BAY
Coconut Pancakes mango curd, coconut chantilly, burnt white chocolate, dried raspberry
The Little Bay was our 2019 winner of the Local Foodie Bucketlist and has been one of Pieta’s fave places since. This beachside cafe not only has the most amazing views, they also offer the most delicious little stack of tropical vibes there ever was… drooling.
NIC & KOLO – APPLECROSS
Cinnamon Scroll Pancakes with cheesecake glaze
This is not a drill, the two most amazing food items in the world have merged and I can not cope. Cheese. Cake. Glaze….. dead.
LITTLE RAW DELI – CARLISLE
Snickers Pancakes – Gluten free and vegan, a stack of 3 buckwheat and banana pancakes with raw snickers pieces, caramel and peanut sauces, topped with your choice of ice cream, raw chocolate sauce and crushed peanuts
Meg’s nomination for best pancakes in Perth and it is easy to see why! A slightly healthier option out there from Little Raw Deli! Available on Saturdays only (so get in quick!)
PADBURY’S – GUILDFORD
Meringue Munro Pancakes – homemade lemon curd / lemon candy / honeycomb/ coconut & fig toasted granola / buttermilk pancakes
This is one of my favourite little spots out my way, and these zingy pancakes are just the perfect thing to enjoy is such a beautiful spot.
CAFE ELIXIR – WANNEROO
Apply Crumble Pancakes OR Oreo Cheesecake Pancakes
In Pieta’s top 2 pancakes in Perth, the Northern Suburbs never looked so good. A local favourite and quickly becoming one of Perth Happenings’ go to venues. Apple crumble is one of my top 3 favourite desserts of all time so this is big news. *urgently books table at Elixir*
PETITION KITCHEN – PERTH CBD
Gluten free and vegan stack of 3 buckwheat and banana pancakes with raw snickers pieces, caramel and peanut sauces, topped with your choice of ice cream, raw chocolate sauce and crushed peanuts
