Event Details
Fremantle-based artist Jem Ham presents Emergent Curiosities, a solo exhibition of works exploring the hidden landscapes of the mind. Inspired by Aldous Huxley’s idea that “our mind still has its darkest Africas, its unmapped Borneos and Amazonian basins,” these works are collected specimens, revealing strange forms born of intuition, memory, feeling, and archetypal imagery, forming a kind of psychic ecology. Each work dives into mystery and emerges as a curiosity. What they are and what they mean is still open to interpretation. Discovered over time and brought together in the exhibition, these unique curiosities invite visitors to encounter them, perhaps finding doorways to their own unmapped regions.
