Jurassic World is full of incredible special effects, thrilling scenes and edge of your seat tension. Now imagine the chaos and terror brought to life with a live orchestra performing the score, while you enjoy the movie in all it’s cinematic glory.

This is exactly what we got last night from the electrifying West Australian Symphonic Orchestra.

At times, you find yourself completely immersed in Jurassic World, only to glance down in absolute awe at the orchestra moving in flawless synchronicity with the action. At others, the sheer wave of motion and energy from the West Australian Symphony Orchestra is so captivating that it’s impossible to look away.

This was my first experience of a live orchestra performing alongside a film, and it completely transformed Jurassic World. The music didn’t just accompany the story, it pulled you deeper into it, heightening every moment of suspense, joy, fear, and humour.

Last night brought together die-hard Jurassic Park and Jurassic World fans, music lovers, and curious first-timers, united by the electric atmosphere of a truly unique live experience.

I remember going to the cinema in 2015 eager to see the reboot of my childhood classic Jurassic Park. And so, it’s really nostalgic to see the franchise being brought to life again in this immersive, high quality and exhilarating production.

The West Australian Symphony Orchestra delivers a performance that not only reimagines a well-known film but deepens your appreciation of how essential music is to storytelling. For anyone, wanting to elevate their movie experience or for even just the casual movie-goer, I would highly recommend you keep a lookout for further movie concerts by WASO.
