Are you looking for the perfect introduction to the circus? Look no further than CIRCUS The Show! Whether it’s magic tricks, juggling or acrobatics, this circus offers the audience a tasting plate to discover their favourite staple. The acts made such an impression on the kids that there was a steady line of fans waiting for their turn to get a photo with the cast.

Ringmaster Magnus Danger Master’s many years of emceeing experience shine as he engages the audience while hyping up each performer. In true “Magnus the children’s entertainer” fashion (refer to my review of Kaboom), the rascal also managed to sneak in a fable about perseverance and pursuing one’s passion. Magnus also serves as comic relief for the adults. There’s nothing risque of course, but it’s nice to be able to chuckle at secret parent jokes.

The absolute star of the show is someone unexpected… the clown! Making his appearance as a warm up act, this slapstick pro had Kiddo in absolute stitches even before the arrival of the ringmaster. Kiddo was sitting on my lap and wiggling so much from all the laughter that I could barely hold my hand steady while trying to get content! Without giving too much away, both Kiddo and I were very glad that the clown made regular cameos throughout the show.

While everyone is welcome at CIRCUS The Show, it is best suited to kids aged ten and under. The acts are just the right length to keep hyperactive younger kids glued to their seats. While the acts are brilliant and had the audience cheering, they may not be “death-defying” enough for older kids.

It still makes for a fun family day out, because honestly, does one ever outgrow the wonder of the circus?

CIRCUS The Show is running for a limited season at the Rechabite. Grab those tickets ASAP!

Note for children with sensory issues: There are some mild flashing lights throughout the show. You may also like to bring some noise-cancelling headphones for kids with auditory sensitivities.
