If you’re anything like me, you don’t like to venture out too far to get a good meal. With all the great restaurants in the area, I don’t have to. So, if you live in the Ballajura surrounds or you want to come to us and try a new place, we’re recommending some of our favourites to you:
Villa Da Vinci
Located off Summerlakes Parade, this Italian restaurant is a must-go for lovers of pizza and pasta. With both an indoor and outdoor dining area, sitting outside in the summer with a great view of the neighbourhood lake is a date night waiting to happen. Their menu is affordable, delectably tasty and all come with generous portion sizes. If you’re going you simply shouldn’t say no to an entrée serving of Chilli Mussels or the Penne Arrabiatta! If you’re a Ballajura local and want to eat dinner in your pajamas watching TV, they also do takeaway! If you’re dining in on the weekend then make a reservation because tables fill up fast.
The Alexander Bar and Bistro
Better known as The Alexander, this bar and bistro sits on the edge of Alexander Heights and Ballajura (but us Ballajurians will claim it as our own!) Having only been around for a couple years, the Alexander has become a local staple. With a menu of pub classics like a Chicken Parmi, Caesar Salad and a Steak Sandwich, you won’t be leaving hungry. They’ve also got entertainment for everyone with live sports, karaoke on Sundays, quiz nights and live music for those of you who want a good boogie! They are open until 12am on the weekends so you’ll even be able to stay late for a cheeky drink.
Banana Leaf Catering
If you’re looking for some authentic Malaysian cuisine in the Ballajura area than this the place to go to! Located on the Malaga food strip, Banana Leaf combine a perfect blend of herbs and spices that will set your taste buds alight! If you are a seafood lover then we suggest the Curry Fish Fillet with its delicious coconut cream taste. Or if you’re a vegetarian the Sizzling Japanese Bean Curd combines a crackling sauce with soft tofu. They’re quite popular on weekends so we suggest booking a reservation but if you’re in the neighbourhood on a weekday, a takeaway from Banana Leaf is a must have!
Sunlight Chinese Restaurant
Another one located on the Malaga food strip, Sunlight promises authentic Chinese food that will satisfy your weeknight cravings. They do a slew of traditional Chinese dishes like egg fried rice and hokkien noodles. We love the crunchy and tangy, chilli pepper fried squid! Their dining area is a great place for a local date night with plenty of room in their double storey seating area. If you’re not in the mood for eating out they have also become quite a takeaway spot through the years!
