Perth’s Outback Splash is an oasis found in the middle of Perth’s Eastern suburbs in the Swan Valley. It is one of Perth’s top outdoor entertainment destinations for a full day out with the family.
During the Summer months you’ll find a multitude of water slides and features that are designed for the little kiddies. The big kiddies that are often referred to as Mum and Dad will enjoy it too!
Here are our highlights;
The Wedgie
The Wedgie claims to be the fastest body slide in WA. Being one of the tallest of its kind in Australia, this slide did not disappoint. It feels fast, and it is. 100 tonnes of water per hour, taking you up to 75 kilometres per hour, on what feels like a near-vertical drop. They even supply you with a ‘wedgie mat’ (which I took full advantage of) to avoid any embarrassment at the bottom! (pun intended). This is one for the real adrenaline seeker and I absolutely loved it.
Gold Rush
An enclosed golden speed slide that wasn’t as fast as I expected but still heaps of fun. This was perfect for my daughter- who wants to go on the big slides but isn’t always brave enough for the super-fast ones just yet!
Blackout
This slide features a sequence of pitch black and awesome natural light effects which are truly mesmerizing and different to anything I’ve ever experienced in a water slide. I loved that being in a two-person raft meant you got to share the experience with someone else. And it isn’t just a light show. With twists and turns and then a surprising final drop, Blackout has it all and was a firm favourite in our family!
The Wall
Based on all the best features of ‘The Boomerang’ (the No. 1 slide experience at Bali’s Waterbomb Park), this was definitely a crowd favourite. I’ve been on a similar slide in Egypt but loved that on this one there is a bit of a ride before the main event – the almost free-fall drop! It’s the only one of its kind in Western Australia and one you’ll want to go on again… and again….and again!
Splash Island, Octopus Bay and The Plummet remain to keep the younger family members entertained. The new slides raise the bar for WA and will definitely appeal to older kids and adults alike. No matter your age, it is an awesome day out for the whole family!
Perth’s Outback Splash is just 30 minutes from Perth’s CBD. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is simply a water park. Guests can visit the park year-round and enjoy a variety of outdoor attractions. Make sure you leave time to check out the mini golf, Australian wildlife (koalas, kangaroos etc) and the variety of mazes!
Day tickets and season passes available.
