Just in time for the start of the warmer months, Bayswater Mayor, Filomena Piffaretti turned on the taps today of the City of Bayswater’s $4.4 million renovation of the much-loved Maylands Waterland.
Ready to explore with the family? Here’s what to expect. All new waterplay features have come alive throughout the water park, including a giant motorbike frog water sculpture, waterfall, splash pad, wading pool, tipping bucket and water creek.
Turning on the water elements completes stage one of the park upgrade, after the parkland’s dry areas were launched this winter. The dry areas include an artist-created play spider, timber tunnel with climbing wall, accessible basket swing, junior and main playgrounds, viewing deck, accessible toilets and changerooms, picnic facilities, and mobile food bay. Yes, there will even be visiting food trucks!
Wondering if you can have your kiddo’s next birthday at the park? Yes you can! There is a bookable upper area complete with benches, barbecues and a kitchenette. Importantly there are also accessible toilets and changing rooms.
