If you’re like me and always on the hunt for a new place to try for a yummy weekend brunch then please allow me to introduce you to the new kids on an old block – Cleaver Heritage.
Located on Cleaver St in West Perth, the first thing you’ll notice when you arrive at Cleaver Heritage (aside from the enticing coffee aroma) is the space. Beautiful high ceilings, with plenty of room to move around between the tables, you can tell that care has been taken in creating an environment that caters for all abilities.
The decor embraces the heritage of the surrounding areas with rustic elements like concrete and timber combined with warm lighting and pops of greenery.
There’s also a striking mural along the cafe wall – Memories On Cleaver by local artist Linzi Carter, a fusion of City Of Vincent heritage-listed images with her signature touches.
The Cleaver Heritage all day brunch menu features some of your tried-and-tested favourites, like Smashed Avo or a Bacon Butty or if you want to try something a little different, you’ll be excited by the additions like Spannakopita and King Snapper (can confirm, this was delicious!)
The menu is constructed around locally sourced ingredients, with a focus on sustainability. And if you are the kind that likes to pre-plan their meals – you can browse their menu online.
When it comes to the coffees, beans are supplied by another proud local biz, Pound Coffee.
Their small-batch production means the coffees are smooth and delicious – sure to get the tick of approval from coffee-snobs everywhere. And there’s a range of teas, kombucha and freshly squeezed juices if coffee isn’t your thing.
There’s plenty of street parking for those grabbing a cuppa on the way through and Cleaver Heritage has a handy coffee window and take-away food selection, so you can conveniently drop in for your caffeine fix.
Cleaver Heritage is a beautiful nod to the history of the surrounding area. Serving up yummy food and great coffee, this is definitely a place to visit for your next weekend brunch date.
