Here in WA we love our food and wine! WA’s vast state’s food and beverage industry is valued at $7.1 billion, with more than 1300 food and beverage businesses across the State. There is no doubt that producers, retailers and venues are doing it tough with the current market challenges like inflation, staffing issues and rising costs, off the back of COVID. Next Tuesday 25 October the industry will come together for a one day summit – MEET THE BUYER, presented by Buy West Eat Best, at Crown Perth, which comes at an opportune time.
This trade show will see 80 exhibitors showcasing 500+ brands to over 400 delegates; the biggest showcase of our state’s quality food and beverage products in one place. Last year saw many success stories of WA products being stocked on retail shelves, menus and beverage lists around Australia.
Exhibitors at Meet the Buyer include producers, farmers, wineries, brewers, artesian crafters and industry associations showcasing products that have been grown, farmed, fished, processed, prepared and served right here in Western Australia.
These businesses range from familiar and classic WA brands to small boutique producers. The scope is culturally diverse with stories and products that are uniquely West Australian; many are family operated sharing recipes from generations past, and others industry innovators on the cutting edge of societal and emerging trends.
The trade show will be filled with quality products from artisan butters to bee products, green smoothies, natural energy drinks, waters, and cold brew tea and coffee. From quality local chicken, beef, pork, lamb, goat, rock lobster and octopus, to fresh produce like potatoes, bananas, kale, sweetcorn and more. A diverse range of dairy, artisan cheeses, breads, flours, black garlic, chilli, jerky, vegan products, curries, dumplings, nougat, granola, kimchi, tortillas, cakes, oils, and products made from chickpeas, lupin, apricots, vanilla, native ingredients and more. A number of boutique distillers, wineries and brewers will be showcasing their gins, vodkas, wines, beer and ciders.
Meet the Buyer provides a face-to-face platform for producers to connect with a range of buyers including independent and national retailers, distributors, chefs, sommeliers, educators and caterers servicing domestic and international markets.
Delegate tickets from www.meetthebuyer.com.au are priced at $49 (plus Booking fee) and include admission to the trade show, all day tea and coffee, program catalogue, and admission to the Networking Sundowner with light canapes and first drink.
