Every year, Russell Square in Northbridge turns pink and transforms into The Pleasure Garden. This precinct is synonymous with Fringe and is home to:
- The Big Top
- The Gold Digger
- Lotterywest De Parel Spiegeltent
- The Hat Trick
- The Aurora Spiegeltent
- Big Top
- The Parlour
You could easily spend a whole day at The Pleasure Garden watching all your favourite Fringe shows and I have to admit, there might have been a few occasions where I may have bought some tickets on a whim, while taking a breather in the garden.
The Pleasure Garden is also known for their Mermaid Tank, with daily appearances at 5.30pm. Weekend Fringe fans can also catch them at 3.30pm. If you have a high energy kid, head over to the silent disco to burn all that excess energy off… then catch a break on the ferris wheel.
Got a break between shows? Why not grab a bite to eat or a cool bevvie to beat the heat – yes, The Pleasure Garden is licensed!
Alternatively, head out of the garden and hit up one of the many restaurants and cafe in the area. From cheap eats at Old Shanghai to premium wagyu beef at Azabu, foodies are truly spoilt for choice, thanks to the central location of Fringe’s heartbeat.
