To have the ultimate experience with Ivy Cabaret at – A Night at the Opera – you must enjoy two things.
1. The Ultimate 4 man band, “Queen,” and 2. Butts. If you also like boobs, well you’re in for a treat.
A Night at the Opera is a Queen Tribute burlesque show. We were a part of a full house and I could see that the audience was ready to be Rocked.
From an opening number that had the audience singing and clapping through to the final performance that was something completely unexpected, this show paid homage to Queen in a way fans can appreciate.
Burlesque generally shows off womanly curves, booty and some sexy peaks at breasts. There is nothing better than an act that has every set of eyes firmly glued on that stage, and specifically when trying to find ‘somebody to love’ we were all mesmerized. Although there was not a strong focus on costuming, those performers who developed them were outstanding. From beautifully asking ‘Who wants to live forever?” to, well, a very fun kind of silly.
As with any troupe, there were those who were very strong and you could tell were experienced. The acts were presented in a way that provided moments of wanting to stand on your feet and applaud, entwined with others of a slower pace. A Night at the Opera showcased some emerging artists that I can see, with time, will also be strong in their performance. Overall a very solid and fun show. The Queen song selections were brilliant!
A perfect combination of tease, dance, comedy and the female body. What more could you ask for?
