⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A one woman show that even theatre novices will understand and love, Jane Austen Private Eye is clever, engaging and unexpectedly impressive.
I will admit I was sceptical at the beginning.
A solo performer carrying an entire production is no small task. However, by the end of the show I was thoroughly impressed by Jessica Messenger’s performance and undeniable stage presence.

Messenger commands the room with confidence and ease, seamlessly shifting between characters while keeping the audience completely engaged.
As I looked around the room at people in the audience everyone’s eyes were glued to the stage. Jessica Messengers physicality, voice changes and timing are sharp, making each transition feel effortless.
The writing is playful and intelligent, blending historical references with a creative twist that feels fresh rather than forced.
This theatre show truly has it all. There is murder mystery, time travel, drama and plenty of humour woven throughout, giving the audience constant surprises.
I found myself enthralled, listening and watching intently, waiting to see what would happen next. The pacing kept me curious, and just when I thought I knew where the story was heading, it cleverly pivots. It genuinely felt like watching a book come to life in front of me, with each moment painted vividly through performance alone.
What makes this show stand out is its balance of intelligence and imagination It never feels overwhelming or overly theatrical. Instead, it invites the audience in and carries them along for the ride.
Whether you are a long time Jane Austen reader or simply looking for something unique to watch, this show delivers a polished and thoroughly entertaining experience that I will remember and talk about for a long time to come.
