Out of Order, is a fast-paced comedy penned by actor and writer Tamara Creasey. It takes the simple concept of our morning coffee rituals and spins it into a hilarious theatrical experience.

Set in a small office on a gloomy Monday morning, the play follows a group of co-workers stumbling into their week, each absorbed in their own personal chaos. When their beloved coffee van fails to arrive, things soon begin to unravel. With caffeine cravings taking hold, the co-workers grow increasingly desperate, leading to hilariously creative attempts to get their fix.

Creasey’s writing is sharp. The cast is made up of some of our best local talent and their comedic timing is perfect. The soundtrack is a cracker, creating a fast paced, dynamic performance. The audience roared with laughter throughout, captivated by the sharp character work, witty subplots, and the spiralling absurdity of the situation. It was a really fun night out.

Each character is instantly recognisable to anyone familiar with office life. Linda, the perpetually cheerful team cheerleader; Rory, the insufferable know-it-all; Agnes, the hungover party girl barely holding it together; and the endearing slow burn romance between shy Sid and Birdie, who exchange longing glances across the room but struggle to find the courage to connect.

Out of Order is a tightly executed, laugh-out-loud portrait of office life and coffee culture pushed to comic extremes. It’s showing until 17th May at The Blue Room Theatre in Northbridge.
