People often refer to Queensland as the “Sunshine State,” I personally think these people must have never been to Western Australia. Most days in WA are perfect sunny beach days. Truth be told, all the beaches along the Western Australia coast are both beautiful and magical in one way or another making it hard to pick Perth’s best beaches. Perth itself has over 20 stunning pristine beaches, which is what initially drew me to this beautiful city from Canada. Come discover your very own slice of paradise along the Indian Ocean!
Mullaloo Beach
Beach lovers know that the best beaches are the ones where the sand is soft, white, and warm. Where the water is calm and is a mixture of blues and turquoise. This is Mullaloo! It is a beach lover’s paradise, and it is sure to give you all the feels of being on a secluded exotic island.

Hamersley Pool
Hamersley Pool is one of my personal favourite beaches. It is located right beside Mettam’s Pool, but is a much smaller beach, and I often find it less busy. It is surrounded by massive rocks and makes me feel like I am swimming in a private bay. It is enclosed by a reef, which makes for an excellent snorkelling spot to see a plethora of native underwater wildlife.

Coogee Beach
Coogee beach has a little something for everyone, and even more so if you are an adventure enthusiast. Have you ever dreamed of snorkelling or diving a shipwreck?! Located only 25 meters offshore, you will find the Omeo Shipwreck, that sank in 1905. Be prepared to see some vibrant aquatic life, stingrays, and even curious dolphins! Besides the shipwreck, there is 4 kilometres of stunning coastline. If you are terrified of sharks like myself, Coogee Beach has a 300 meter long swimming enclosure that will make you feel more secure while you frolic and laze about. Within the enclosure, there is a floating pontoon, if you fancy doing some jumps or feel like tanning those cheeks mid swim. If you are in the mood for a stroll, Coogee beach also has a historic jetty, which is the perfect spot to take in an incredible sunset with a picnic.
Scarborough Beach
Night markets, restaurants, boardwalks, epic sunsets, big swells, swimming pools, need I say more? Scarborough Beach is the perfect place for a family day out. This stretch of coastline is home to an amphitheatre, where musicians and Latin dancers frequent. There is a children’s adventure playground which includes a skateboarding bowl and a rock-climbing wall. If you don’t fancy a salty dip, the Scarborough beach pool has you covered. There is even a dedicated grassy hill to watch the sunset! Not to mention a large selection of cafes, bars, and restaurants that will leave you wanting more. Head to the Scarborough Sunset Markets every Thursday during the summer months for a world of food truck vendors, live music, and entertainment. Overall, Scarborough beach is a vibrant area buzzing with many exciting things to see and do!

Cottesloe Beach
I feel like Perth and Cottesloe beach go hand in hand, you can’t think of one without thinking of the other. Cottesloe Beach happens to be my favourite beach in Perth. It was the first beach I visited when I moved to Perth, and it is the place I got engaged, so it holds a big place in my heart. Tourists and locals alike flock to this incredible stretch of sand, and how can you blame them. Cottesloe beach has a very laid-back, easy-going nature to it, and is gorgeous to boot. It is cherished for its Norfolk pine trees, green grass, white sand, calm waters, swimming enclosure, and it’s iconic Indiana Teahouse. There are quite a few restaurants and pubs along the coast to enjoy some nibbles with a view as well.
