Claremont is known for two long standing places to be merry but the Claremont Hotel and Club Bay View are no longer open. Club Bay View has gone completely, while the Claremont Hotel is closed with no plan to reopen. So where to eat, drink and be merry in Claremont?
Everything is centred around the Claremont village and Claremont Quarter.
Where to Eat in Claremont
Billie H Bistro and Bar
Billie H Bistro and Bar on St Quentin’s Ave is a Billie Holiday, jazz diva, themed wine bar and restaurant. And the wine bar is something to behold with lots of Western Australian and international wines. Grab a stool at the bar for happy hour and then stay for dinner and some jazz classics. We ate inside, but there is a nice black and white themed alfresco patio area.
Italian on Bay View Terrace
There are two Italian restaurants and bars on Bay View Terrace. With their alfresco areas spilling onto Bay View Terrace, it’s a great place for a balmy summer’s evening, especially from Thursday with late night shopping and Friday and Saturday nights.
Both the Dolce Bellissimo and Nolitas have classic Italian menus.

The Lane, Claremont Quarter
For cheap and cheerful, the Claremont Quarter Lane has a range modern fast food options such as Grill’d (healthy burgers), Mad Mex (Mexican), Miss Chow’s (Asian) The Groper and his Wife (Fish and Chips).
Tiger Bar
Out of the box: only on a Thursday night is the Tiger Bar at the Claremont Football Club. After a bit of a refurb, The Tiger Bar is opening on 18th February. While having a drink and meal, you can watch the mighty Claremont football teams train.
Sado Island
My favourite Japanese restaurant closed down a while ago but researching for this blog we found it again , in a small arcade near Typica. Sado Island has amazing authentic Japanese food and great service. We are looking forward to some Agedashi tofu soon.
