Crip Rave Theory is an all inclusive night club experience that has paved its way with glitter, understanding and originality, right into Perth Festival 2025.
This disability led event focused on accessibility, fun and comfort and it hit every single mark and then some!

Held at the picturesque Perth City Farm, there was ample inside and outside space, and every section was utilised intentionally and for the pleasure of party goers! The large outdoor space allowed for ease of movement, and facilities such as a food truck and a bar made sure everyone had the energy they needed to dance all night.
The main stage area had added wheelchair access and plenty of couches, chairs and beanbags, as well as heaps of space for dancing and vibing the shows. There were silent disco headphones to allow movement around the venue whilst staying plugged into the performances, and an ASL interpreter during the speeches and shows. When we up and dancing away, my sister and I noticed that the speakers were set to a reasonable volume – loud enough to get into your system, not so loud that you can’t hear anyone or anything else. Likewise, the lighting was consistent and warm, allowing to set the mood but also clear visibility.
Not only did Crip Rave Theory have a social chill out zone, with sensory toys, craft and Glitter face paint; it also had an anti-social area that was quiet and had a couch, sensory items and sleep masks.
There were 6 performances throughout the night including DJ sets, live singers, and a performer. They were all varied and honestly just so much fun.
CRT thought of everything, the whole space was such a beautiful inclusive chilled out vibe, my sister said to me “I don’t feel like I have to be a certain way here” and promptly took her high heels off.
