⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The chaotic highs and devastating lows of partying in your youth – drinking too much, dabbling in party favours, and waking up to the consequences (but absolutely no regrets) – are exactly what you can expect from Gendermess Productions’ latest masterpiece, Messy Friends: Party Favours.
Fresh off a wild debut at Melbourne’s Midsumma Pride Festival last weekend, Perth’s finest – Ginava, Flynn V, Alfie, Bobby Knox, and Mary Lamb O’God – returned home to give us a show that felt like reliving every questionable night out… but with better outfits.
Our messy friends served up some killer tracks like In The Yuma, featuring high-energy choreography.
It was a cocktail of talent: flawless lip-syncing from Mary Lamb O’God, sensual burlesque from Bobby Knox, razor-sharp moves from pocket rocket Alfie, eccentric characters from Flynn V, and Ginava’s jaw-dropping costumes.
The show hit deep with some all-too-relatable party moments: being painfully shy around your crush (who inevitably ditches you for someone else), losing your phone for the 17th time in one night and oversharing on your sex life.
Then came the more tragic (but still hilarious) realities of partying: mind-melting LSD trips, nauseating post-binge hangovers, and the existential dread of “Did I really do that?” as the shocking reality of day time hits and the party is over.
I heard a guy next to me say “We’ve all been there.”
Yes. Yes, we have.
Massive shoutout to the lighting team, who had every beat on point, turning the stage into a chaotic, dazzling dream.
But my absolute favourite part? The party games. Because nothing says interactive theatre like Beer Pong, an amped-up crowd, and an unsuspecting audience member becoming the sacrificial lamb.
Get your tickets and experience the madness while you can!
