An absolute freakin’ vibe!
Knowing this show is performed by the same vivacious team from Messy Friends, I already had an inkling of what I was in for, but this show served up sooooo much more!
The were a true representation of the passion and talent.
The outfits were on point. I was blown away by the impeccable choreography. They gave 110% for each and every move, with mannerisms and gestures that are so precise and sharp! Sharper than the 8+inch stiletto heels some of them wore! Bend and snap anyone?!?
The audience was welcome to immerse themselves in the show. While we were NOT able to be involved in the actual performing, we were allowed to dance (or stand) on the dancefloor and around the stage. Burlesque beauties, sexy swinging pole dancers, flaming fire eaters and a voluptuous vocal vixen tempted us mere mortals to get our freak on. We were permitted to get our freak on, you could say!
We’re living in a time of recognition of all colours of the proverbial rainbow. The word “freak” once represented something very unusual. Be it an unexpected event, situation or person whose behaviour or fashion style were considered socially or culturally atypical. “Freak Out” is a show that flamboyantly embraces the term, and celebrates diversity.
And in doing so, perhaps it proves there’s potentially a little freak inside each and every one of us, making the once “atypical”, typical…
