A show catered specifically for babies? That’s got to be one in a Milly-on at Fringe!
Bubba-licious, created by Kat Grey and her husband Matt, fills a much-needed gap in Fringe programming by offering a delightful and inclusive experience for families with little ones. The concept is simple yet brilliant: a show designed to captivate children aged 6 months to 3 years while keeping parents relaxed and engaged.
While Kat wasn’t present at our show, Milly stepped in and stole the spotlight with her animated and engaging performance. Matt provided fantastic support, throwing in humour and charm that gave parents something to chuckle about while their little ones were mesmerised. It was a perfect balance of entertainment for all ages.
Held at Perth Town Hall, the show featured shadow puppetry, nursery rhymes galore, and, of course, bubbles—endless bubbles that had the children completely enchanted. The 30-minute runtime was just right, carefully crafted to match short attention spans without feeling rushed or incomplete.
One of the standout aspects of Bubba-licious was its thoughtful approach to creating a relaxed, safe, and welcoming environment. From the opening disclaimer, parents were reassured that this was a space where children could move freely, mums could breastfeed comfortably, and everyone could feel at ease. Directions to the toilets and a general sense of consideration for parents navigating toddler life were much appreciated.
Bubba-licious is a shining example of how Fringe can offer something truly unique for families. Highly recommended for anyone with little ones looking for fun, laughter, and a bit of bubble magic.
