From age eleven to eighteen there was nothing on the menu that could steer me away from my favourite meal – a Parmi!

I had a seven-year period of not even bothering to open a menu, and if the restaurant didn’t serve Parmigiana, I wasn’t going. I have had some good Parmis, some bad Parmis and occasionally I would have amazing Parmis.

With all that being said I felt I was more than qualified to share my top list of Perth’s best Parmigiana. So here it is, a list of the best Perth’s Parmis – a list for the Parmi people by a Parmi person.

THE OXFORD HOTEL – LEEDERVILLE

The Oxford Hotel is nothing short of an iconic Perth venue, with a friendly and relaxed dining experience and a warm rustic feel you will not be left disappointed. The menu is focused on your favourite classic pub meals with something for everyone.

The Oxford Hotel’s parmigiana is iconic on its own accord, a thickly cut chicken breast with just the right level of crispiness on the cheese. The dish is the perfect hearty classic pub meal for the upcoming winter months and for $15 on Parmi Monday it is the perfect way to start your week.

THE ROSE & CROWN – GUILDFORD

The Rose & Crown is filled with both character and history as Western Australia’s oldest operating hotel. The restaurant has two different dining options as well as their beautiful open beer garden to offer. The venue has a welcoming and family feel with incredibly friendly staff.

If you cannot handle your spice than be warned this Parmi is not for you! This parmigiana comes with a smokey sauce unlike any other; served on a bed of crispy roast potatoes mixed with chipotle sauce, spinach and jalapeños. This unique take on the classic Parmi is something you will not be able to find at any other restaurant.

THE CAMFIELD – BURSWOOD

With five bars, an onsite micro-brewery and a beautiful view there is always something happening at the Camfield. Whether you are looking to have some casual drinks, grab a bite with a co-worker or dine in with the family it is the place to be! It is also dog friendly, so bring your pooch along to try out the extensive menu.

The Camfield serves up a beautiful traditional Parmigiana, it is simple yet delicious and they seem to get it just right every time. The Parmigiana comes as a massive portion size, something everyone can appreciate in a classic pub meal. The only down fall is your eyes might be a little bigger than you stomach with this one!

THE MUNDARING HOTEL – MUNDARING

Located in the Perth Hills with a beautiful rural setting the Mundaring Hotel is definitely worth a visit. The menu includes both pub classics and modern dishes, all inspired by the local area with locally sourced produce. The venue is perfect for any occasion and has a beautiful beer garden and playground for kids to enjoy.

Anyone local to the area will suggest the Mundaring Hotel for the best chicken Parmi, and it is well worth the hype. The Parmi is the perfect amount of sauciness to cheesiness ratio and the portion sizes are more than generous. There is also the option to add toppings to you Parmi, a way to customise your perfect Parmigiana. The best part is you can enjoy Perth Hill’s best Parmi for just $20 on their Thursday Parmi special night.

So there you have it – my list of my favourite Parmi’s in Perth.
