Whale Playground – Scarborough Beach
The Whale Park sits along the bustling Scarborough esplanade and should be on top of your list for your next family day out! Designed in the shape of a whale’s skeleton, this park is packed full of detail and imagination and has everything you need to spend hours of endless fun with the kids. Enjoy the mix of soft sand and poured rubber while the kids run, climb, swing, balance, dig and explore every inch of this next level playground. Older kids will love hanging out in the body of the whale which is made up of a long mesh tunnel, an enclosed slide, and a log swing underneath. While the little ones will discover so much in and underneath the wooden fort and all throughout the different sand areas.
While there is partial fencing around some of the sand pit, the playgwhale plaround itself is quite open and can get very busy on a beautiful summer’s day, so keep that in mind if you have any fast little runners in the family. There’s shade and seating available, as well as public BBQs and toilets close by.
If you’re up for a walk along the foreshore, you’ll find a public rock-climbing wall, a skate park, a huge grass space as well as several dining options just across the road.
Grab the family and make a day of it, the only trouble you’ll have is trying to get everyone to leave!
