A fresh face to the St. George’s Terrace culinary scene, Rusty Fig welcomes you back to a familiar space.
For Perth city commuters, the Rusty Fig is perfect for that quiet escape in the busy landscape. Whether you’re looking for a sit-down lunch with business partners, or a sophisticated fine dining experience, the newly updated Rusty Fig should be on your radar.
Named after the towering Port Jackson Fig on its open-air terrace, Perth locals may be familiar the venues predecessors, Friends Restaurant. Although the Rusty Fig is a new name to the Perth foodie scene, with Graham Jessop at the helm of the new business, and his experience in Michelin star restaurants like Heston Blumenthal’s, the shift away means the newly named Rusty Fig is in safe hands.
You’ll enjoy fine modern Australian dining at its best with the Rusty Fig. Previously known for their truffles, the new restaurant expands on that experience, with a solid six course Degustation Menu that just keeps going! From juicy Shark Bay scallops to tender Manjimup Wagyu truffle steak, the menu caters for many palates. A solid standout is the airy burnt orange souffle. Starting with a warm souffle, your server will place a ball of chocolate in the middle, allowing the delightful hot and cold experience on your tongue. A favourite we recommend.
If six courses are not your speed, the team has you covered. Whether you choose welcoming leather seating upstairs, or by the bar downstairs, their a la carte menu which is equally as appetising. Entrees such as the cured ocean trout were flavourful and light, however the mains options such as crispy pan fried duck breast to fresh local Geraldton lobster are generous and filling. Your selection of drinks is catered for too with a fully licensed bar.
Especially great for Christmas functions, the Rusty Fig’s elegant long table function room at the rear of the restaurant allows for a private gathering with your workmates, or for a family dinner.
