The Bird
If there’s one venue you can count on to deliver, it’s The Bird. Relied on as one of the city’s best hangouts, it’s where you’ll find many up-and-coming artists and DJs making a name for themselves. Not to mention, it’s conveniently situated in the heart of Northbridge, on the corner of William and Roe St.

Indian Ocean Hotel
There’s just something about the Indian Ocean Hotel that makes you immediately feel right at home. Perhaps it’s the relaxed, cosy interior or its backyard party vibes – but this trendy Scarborough joint has become a favourite of mine. Head on right over for a chilled night and a well-deserved dance.

The Ellington Jazz Club
Just as its name suggests, The Ellington Jazz Club is an intimate venue showcasing the very best jazz talents from Australia and beyond, 7 days a week. Seeing as the place often gets packed, it’s recommended that you get in early for the best seats in the house.

The Sewing Room
Located in the basement of Wolf Lane, The Sewing Room is an underground venue and nightclub which has had the likes of G Flip, several WAM artists and other local musicians performing at it. In fact, there’s always something on at The Sewing Room – including themed decade nights!

Jack Rabbit Slim’s
Formerly Black Betty’s, Jack Rabbit Slim’s has consistently stood out as one of Perth’s go-to nightclubs in the past few years. Many wonderful international and Australian artists play their shows at this retro-looking venue, and late night parties are always guaranteed after.

HQ Leederville
The Leederville skate park is surely iconic, but simply look beyond it to find HQ Leederville subtly tucked away. While this live music venue may be comparably smaller than the others, it truly packs a punch with its fiery gigs and urban feel. Did we also mention that it’s an all-ages venue?

Badlands Bar
Don’t be fooled by its name; Badlands Bar is always brimming with the prospect of a good time. With an outdoor beer garden and food trucks to sort your cravings, you can settle in for a pre-show snack or round of drinks beforehand. Once you step inside the gig room and onto the sunken dancefloor, you’ll see why it’s one of the best kept secrets in Perth.
