Lakeside Joondalup staple Parlour Beautique will this month celebrate 13 years of pampering the Joondalup community by offering $13 eyebrow waxes for the whole month!

After 3 years in the industry and seeing her parents run their own successful business, North of the River local and owner Vanessa Currie opened Parlour Beautique at just 20 years old in 2008.
Running a successful business for 13 years of course comes with its own challenges, but Currie has never let professional or personal setbacks stop her from creating a beautiful space for her clientele and the wider Joondalup
community.
In the last 13 years, Currie has faced the expansion of Lakeside Joondalup and moving shopfronts, financial strain and more recently the COVID-19 lockdowns, on top of personal struggles with fertility and severe endometritis.
“A lot of challenges came with being a first time mum and a small business owner, but I was very lucky to have my mum who stepped in and ran the front of the salon for me,” Currie said.
“Without her, a lot of the success of my business wouldn’t have been possible.”
Over the years, the salon has become known in the area for its affordable price tag, dedicated staff and its renowned Happy Hour offers.
Vanessa, team member Amber, who has worked with Vanessa for the last eleven years, and Vanessa’s family have all worked together to grow the business from strength to strength.
The salon prides itself in welcoming busy mums and children into the salon to ensure mothers like herself are able to find the time to pamper themselves.
Currie credits her family, staff, and loyal clients for the longevity of her business.
“Over the last 13 years, I have sponsored 5 therapists from different parts of the world, and we have been Dermalogica’s number one stockist in WA for the last 5 years.
“I can now look back on how amazing my salon truly is and how lucky I am to have my amazing family staff,” Currie said.
“We wouldn’t be here today without the support of our loyal clients. We’re excited to keep growing and keep creating beautiful brows!”
