We headed down to Shake It Off Live tonight and it was the perfect way to wind down at the end of the week. Set along the beautiful boardwalk at Hillarys Boardwalk, the vibe was relaxed, family-friendly and full of excitement from the moment we arrived.

The energy started building early with a DJ playing crowd favourites while sound checks were happening, which really got the kids hyped. There was so much space along the boardwalk for little ones to dance freely, something we absolutely loved. It made the whole event feel easy and stress-free for families.

There was also a cute little stall was selling friendship bracelets, temporary “13” tattoos and non-official Taylor Swift merch. It was a fun touch that the kids were very excited about.

Dressed in a shimmery gold dress, Emily Joy did a fantastic job working the crowd. She took everyone on a nostalgic journey through the different eras of Taylor Swift’s career. The transitions from song to song were seamless, and while there were a few slightly pitchy moments, it truly didn’t matter, the crowd was belting out every Tay Tay hit at the top of their lungs anyway!

Two dancers in pink shimmery dresses added to the fun, although it was a little disappointing that they performed on the ground rather than on stage. Unless you were right up the front, it was hard to properly see their routines. We especially loved the Lover-inspired bodysuit featured midway through.

Overall, Shake It Off Live is absolutely perfect for families.

There’s plenty of room for kids of all ages to roam and dance. While it’s definitely more catered towards younger Swifties, we spotted quite a few adults up dancing as the night went on too. Some families even set up picnics to stay comfy all evening, with lots of food options available nearby to purchase.

If you missed it, Shake It Off Live is happening again on the 14th of February and it’s a great night out for the whole family.
