Excuse me, but where on Earth has the year gone? How is it the end of Term 3 already??
While we are grateful that the warmer Spring weather makes it much easier to organise playground playdates, sometimes we need a bit of variety in our lives, no? Here’s a list of activities to consider this school holidays./
Perth Royal Show
Markets Galore!
Find the Dreamworks Trolls
School Holiday Program at WA Museums
Unicorn Month at Yochi
Perth Royal Show (21st – 28th July)
Have you bought your tickets to The Perth Royal Show??
You could easily spend a whole day there, maybe even two, with the number of events and attractions that will take place at Claremont Showgrounds. Here are just some of the activities that will be on at this year’s show:
- Bluey Interactive Experience and Meet and Greet
- Yellow Brick Road
- Drone show
- Monster trucks
- Fireworks display
There will also be new precincts to discover such as Rodeo Drive and AgVenture Hill.
Pro-tip: Pre-purchase your parking! The parking is already sold out at Ashton Triangle, the closest lot to the showgrounds. Have no fear, as the other official parking spots offer free shuttle services to the show.
Markets Galore
We can’t always take time off work during the school holidays, and the parent guilt is very real. Thankfully, the warmer weather has brought out some of the markets out so that families can enjoy a fun evening or weekend out. Some of our favourites go beyond food trucks and market stalls. They include entertainment for the whole family to enjoy! So bring a picnic blanket and enjoy some quality time with the kids!
Some markets to consider:
Markets @ The Quay for Telethon – 21st September
Perth Makers Market – 22nd September at Goolugatop Heathcote.
Subi Night Market – Saturday evenings at Market Square, Subiaco
Find the Dreamworks Trolls in Fremantle (30th September – 5th October)
Got a Trolls fan or two in the family? Head on down to Fremantle and embark on a troll-hunting expedition across the port city! Complete the trail and kids will unlock VIP access to the Kids’ Activity Zone which features a silent disco and an inflatable obstacle course. And did we mention that they might even meet Poppy and Branch?
This is a FREE event but bookings are required. Find out more here.
School Holiday Programs at WA Museums
No matter where you are in WA, our museums have something planned to keep your curious kids engaged, this school holidays. Whether it’s fairies, or flowers or deadly science, there’s a range of programs to suit every interest and every age .
Unicorn Month at Yo-Chi (13th – 29th September)
Get ready for some unicorn magic! Yo-Chi’s venues will be unicornified with a fabulous 90s retro theme with pink fringing, unicorn-themed decorations and all the sparkles! One very special venue in WA (to be announced!) will also be running some very special activities including a claw machine for a chance to win a range of prizes!
Of course, there will also be some very special additions to the Yo-Chi bar during this period. Check out their limited edition Signature Tart x Strawberries & Cream frozen yogurt and top it with a a slice of rainbow cake. We think it would make the sweetest and most magical end to a holiday playdate!
