If you’re looking for an event the whole family can enjoy this Fringe – you can’t go past the dynamic duo of Tarrabelle Murphy and Rusty Hammond from ZAP Circus.

Fresh from sell-out seasons around Western Australia, Canada and beyond, the married WA locals have brought a brand-new show to Fringe this year that is sure to surprise and delight every member of the family.

With contortionist acts, light shows, acrobatics and even fire, A Circus Sensation had a perfect collection of acts that not only highlighted the abilities of the performers but kept the audience on the edge of their seat.

Tarrabelle Murphy impressed with her acrobatic and contortionist abilities, at one point folding herself through a tennis racquet, whilst Rusty Hammond toyed with the audience’s anticipation and cheek with an act that included a nail, a hammer and his head.

The show has an amazing element of audience participation that made for a truly immersive experience. From 30 second dance parties fuelled by floating beach balls and streamers, to hula hoop competitions that had audience members strutting their stuff – the ZAP Circus duo kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout.

Between each act, Hammond and Murphy bring a level of comedy and charisma that catered the WA audience perfectly. From Game Of Thrones references, relationship humour and off-hand subtle jokes for the adults, to physical comedy by Hammond that had children in the audience in stitches – the show catered to the humour of every audience member (a feat difficult to achieve!).

The duo’s strong connection is unparalleled and was shown beautifully through the series of acrobatic acts that were performed throughout the evening.

However, it is the final act that of fire breathing that had the whole audience enamoured. Both performers seemed at one with the flames in a stunning display of ability that you’ll have to see for yourself! The act also holds significance as duo met while learning how to fire-breathe and have been performing together ever since.

If you’re looking for a high energy, charismatic night of fun the whole family can enjoy – ZAP Circus is for you!
