Glitz and glamour, powerhouse vocals and undeniable stage presence had me excited from the moment the curtain rose. Meow Meow The Red Shoes is cabaret with a difference, and it absolutely delivers. Blending old world elegance with bold contemporary edge, this show feels both timeless and daring all at once.

International cabaret icon Meow Meow commands the stage with confidence, mischief and complete control.

From the first number I was captivated.

The music is rich and beautifully performed, moving seamlessly between drama and satire. The vocals are exceptional. When she was lying on the stage floor singing perfectly in tune, I was in awe. It was a moment that showcased not only her vocal strength but her unwavering commitment to theatricality. It was impressive and completely mesmerising.

What I loved most was the balance. The humour is cleverly dispersed throughout the show, sometimes shocking in the best possible way. Just when the atmosphere feels deeply dramatic, she punctures it with sharp wit or playful audience interaction. It keeps the energy alive, spontaneous and deliciously unpredictable, creating a connection with the audience that feels intimate and electric.

There is a bold confidence to this production. It honours classic cabaret traditions while fearlessly pushing boundaries. Meow Meow The Red Shoes is stylish, dramatic and laugh out loud funny, yet it also carries emotional weight and vulnerability beneath the glamour.

From beginning to end I was engaged, entertained and genuinely impressed. This is cabaret elevated, confident and unapologetically fabulous, leaving the audience buzzing long after the curtain falls.

Meow Meow’s The Red Shoes is now showing in Perth Festival until 1st March 2026.
