RoyAl’s Chicken & Burgers – Your new Treat Meal Go-to!

Treat meals need to bring the goods right and the combination of chicken and burgers is a match made in heaven! Throw in some cool hip-hop vibes, murals with pops of colour and awesome house-made iced tea… yep, you’ve arrived at RoyAl’s Chicken & Burgers.

There are three RoyAl’s Chicken & Burgers conveniently located around town in Wembley, Northbridge and the OG East Vic Park which is soon to be relocating and expanding its capacity. All three are owned by the high achieving Craigie brothers, who also have a few other side projects around town.

We visited RoyAl’s in Wembley on a Monday evening. The restaurant has a very casual atmosphere and is popular with locals. The range of diners was varied when we dined there. There was already a couple of other families enjoying an early dinner, and as we were leaving the crowd changed to mid-week daters, the mid 20s and 30s friends catching up.

The staff are enthusiastic and friendly, plus very helpful with menu choices and suggestions, making us feel very comfortable.

We tried a few different things from the menu, given it was a family outing. My two girls went for a Lil chicken RoyAl each; buttermilk fried thigh, fancy sauce, lettuce and tomato. They both loved their choice! The sides chosen were tater tots and onion rings, this is a really great value kids meal. I loved stealing a few tater tots for myself.

I chose to go with a small popcorn chicken served with dill pickle cucumber and fancy sauce; fancy sauce I’m not sure what your ingredients are but you sure are a delish dipping sauce! The popcorn chicken had a really flavoursome coating that was perfectly fried, not dry at all. The dill pickle and celery were good additions too.

My husband went for “The Stanley”; Gin Gin Angus beef, cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce, pickle and onion and a side of fries; it was delicious! The patty was cooked perfectly and the cheese was melty and the salad was super fresh. We also tried the house-made iced tea. I’m not a huge iced tea fan but this was really good, not too sweet and it made the perfect accompaniment for chicken & burgers.

RoyAl’s also do some very cool weekly specials; you can check out there insta to see what’s on offer.

If you’re thinking of visiting on a Wednesday evening between 6pm – 9pm you’ll be able to chow down on all you can eat wings and wait for it… bottomless iced tea! I’m definitely paying RoyAl’s C&Ba visit on Wednesday.
