Perth Takes on the International Fashion World

Hey Guys!

It’s been a minute, how has everyone been?

We are now in phase 4 and I can see such a change in the city. Pubs are open and restaurants are full. Just wanted to quickly say good on you Perth! We have flattened the curve of this virus and we can finally start getting back out and about.

Now onto more fashion news, in today’s blog, I wanted to talk to you guys about a few Perth born and raised stores which have now got a massive international following and customer base. Although Perth might be the most isolated city in the world, we have made sure we made our stamp on the fashion scene and it defiantly brought us international recognition.

As a few of you may remember, I spoke about Cabinet Noir a few weeks back in a write up about Perth Label Banx. Cabinet opened up back in 2013, in Shafto Lane. It was a first for Perth to have a store that dedicated itself to streetwear brands and Luxury Retail with a twist. It quickly became the one-stop-shop to find the latest must-have items. From brands like Alexander Wang and Stone Island, Perth went crazy for it and it has since made a massive impact on the Perth Scene. The growth led to the store releasing their very own label CABINET NOIR, named after the store which means Black Room in French. You can shop exclusively in-store or on the website which is linked below. As the store outgrew the smaller space in Shafto Lane, it is now located in Raine Square.

Lessons first opened their doors to the people of Perth back in 2014. Brining us Contemporary and luxury designer brands from all around the world. It became very well known to the people of Perth as must go to the store not only for their stock, but also the trendy, minimalistic store they created. They brought designer releases that were previously unavailable here.  As the store grew so did the international demand. The store then took off overseas and opened its first International store in Ottawa, Canada. Lessons not only have brands like Off-White and Versace available, but they have also hosted pop-up tours in collaboration with celebrities like The Weekend, Migos and many more. If you haven’t checked this place out yet it’s a must on your next trip to the city. Located on Wellington Street, Perth CBD.

StreetX was founded in 2011 by 20yo (at the time) Daniel Bradshaw. Since then StreetX has grown exponentially. The company started with an online store which had a massive impact on the Perth fashion scene, and soon to follow the rest of Australia and the world. With a series of pop-ups, the brand quickly grew, and it was time for them to open up their first standalone store in 2013.

Through all of StreetX’s collections and pieces, you will find graphics that show off our Australian Culture. This sets them apart from the rest. They also have collaborated with Perth owned small businesses, designing T-Shirts and selling them in-store, as well as the restaurants they have teamed up with. Pictured below is their collaboration with San Remos Pizza Located in Whitfords. StreetX is now stocked all around the world, from Urban Outfitters on Melrose, West Hollywood to Hong Kong. With such success comes the opening of their very own state of the art Flagship store located on William St, Northbridge. Make sure you check it out when you’re next out and about and pick yourself up to something new.

It’s good seeing so many Perth owned brands/stores getting the international recognition they deserve. Intrigued about their styles? Be sure to check the stores out on your next trip to the city and don’t forget to use the #NOTJUSTAESTHICS on your gram so we can check out all your looks you create!
