Perth’s Upcoming Salsa, Bachata & Kizomba Events

With Phase 4 promising an exciting and packed July, I think we can all agree there’s never been a better time to get on the dancefloor.

Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or looking to try your hand at something new, this is the perfect opportunity to check out Perth’s booming social dancing scene. Now, this is where you might be thinking you might have two left feet! However, it’s important to remember that everyone starts somewhere and that attendance of these events is more about the fun and atmosphere.

From the popular Kizomba to Latin dance styles like Salsa and Bachata, check out these upcoming events in July where you can get your groove on!

 

Mi Lugar De Baile

WHERE | My Place Bar & Restaurant

WHEN | Friday, 3 July (8:30pm – 12:00am)

Dress to impress, because Mi Lugar De Baile is finally back this Friday! As one of July’s first high-energy dance events in Perth, this occasion is bound to bring back that lively party spirit you’ve been missing dearly. Hosted by DJ Tia, the night’s tunes will see a mix of Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and other Latin dance styles. With a tip-top sound system, light food and snacks available and outdoor seating to catch a rest, we expect you to be dancing till late. Just bring $5 for entry and make sure your shoes are comfy!

Saturday Night Salsa

WHERE | North Perth Town Hall

WHEN | Saturday, 4 July (7:30pm – 11:45pm)

Hoping to learn some new moves with each month? Well, you’re in luck! Held on the first Saturday of every month, Saturday Night Salsa is brought to you by the team at Rapture Salsa Dance Academy and The Latin Lounge. As a two-part program, the night’s music format will be split into 2 Salsa / 2 Bachata / 1 Kizomba with some Cha Cha. Those seeking to attend the Beginners Salsa class (7:45pm – 8:45pm) must arrive earlier at 7:30pm to register. Thereon, the class wraps up to make way for the next round of Salsa Club Dancing straight after. Refreshments are provided in the $10 entry fee.

 

WAZouk Indoor Dancing

WHERE | Scarborough Sports and Community Club

WHEN | Sunday, 5 July (5:30pm – 8:30pm)

If you’re finding that your Friday and Saturday night activities are piling up post-restrictions, look no further. WAZouk Indoor Dancing is the Sunday social dancing event for you. Held in the earlier hours of the evening, you can dance your heart out with two exciting zones, and still leave room to slip back home before your bedtime. Room 1 will feature Salsa/Bachata/Kizomba by DJ Tia while Room 2 will feature Zouk/Forro tunes thanks to DJ John. Entry fee is $10, and is inclusive of a $5 drink voucher.

Kizchata

WHERE | Reyes Lounge & Bar

WHEN | Saturday, 18 July (8:00pm – 12:00am)

Think you’ll be all danced out by mid-July? Think again! Come enjoy yet another terrific social dancing event by Bailar Productions. As its name suggests, Kizchata will mainly focus on Kizomba and Bachata. However, that’s not to say there won’t be other captivating dance styles to learn. From Kizomba and Semba to Dominican Bachata, Tarraxinha and a hint of Afro, you’re no doubt in for a treat with DJ Careca and DJ Tia on the decks. Tickets are $10 online or $15 on the door, with wine and the workshop included!

 

La Fiesta Latin Night

WHERE | Juan Rando Dance Academy

WHEN | Saturday, 25 July (7:00pm – 11:55pm)

Promising 100% Bachata and Salsa dancing all night long, Juan Rando Dance Academy is here to present latest La Fiesta Latin Night. Best described as a fun and intimate party, this is a guaranteed way to enjoy your Saturday evening while immersing yourself in the iconic Latin dance styles. With $15 entry, the night’s workshop kicks off at 7:30pm to get you in the zone… As for the real party, you can expect the festivities to be taken up a notch when 8:30pm rolls around!
