Yagan Square’s “Container Weekender” Event

YAGAN SQUARE will engage the selfie-generation with stunning mini-museums in the form of two shipping containers that will change their design each month, decorated by Perth-street artists as highly sharable social media backdrops. CAN’T CONTAIN MYSELF embraces a trend seen in cities across the world with eye-popping container themes that made for Instagram and Tik Tok. The containers will be open every day from May to July from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm, free of charge.

The reveal of the first CAN’T CONTAIN MYSELF container design will take place on 14 & 15 May with street artist ArtbyRow and neon-glow street artist Straker painting live the first mini-museum concept for the coming month (live painting from 1.00 pm to 7.00 pm). Yagan Square will come alive with free activities across the launch weekend, including a crowd-collaboration art wall and kids urban-art activity. Enjoy live acoustic tunes by Zack Linton on Saturday and Jeramias Sosa on Sunday (1.00 pm to 4.00 pm). DJ Sam Timmerman will take to decks and trumpet from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm on both days.
