What Now advert
Get to know the next generation of Martumili Artists in this diverse and eclectic group exhibition from one of Australia’s most renowned remote Aboriginal Art Centres.
This exhibition is a vibrant celebration of the dynamic paintings and photography currently being produced by the boldest and brightest Martu artists, who work across communities in the vast East Pilbara.
It provides an insight into the contemporary aesthetic identity of the next generation of Martu artists, informed by Country, empowered by culture, and inspired by their predecessors.
What Now? is an evocative expression of family and heritage told by Gladys Kuru Bidu, Biddy Bunawarrie, Marianne Burton, Derrick Butt, Doreen Chapman, Lorna Linmurra, Mary Rowlands, Judith Anya Samson, Helen Dale Samson, Debra Thomas, Cyril Whyoulter, Corban Clause Williams, and Tamisha Williams.
What Now? will be officially opened by the Hon Alannah MacTiernan MLC – Minister for Regional Development; Agriculture and Food; Ports; Minister Assisting the Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade; and Meath Hammond – Head of Corporate Affairs for Western Australia, BHP.
